“For NIOSH, the OSH in School programme has been the centre of our CSR activity as we believe that safety and health awareness starts from young hence the school would be the best place to start. NIOSH has successfully introduced the program to more than a dozen schools with the sponsorship from corporate organizations and now we have DuPont collaborating with us which definitely will bring good outcome in cultivating a safety culture.
The program aims to ensure safety, health and welfare for those at work; protect the students against risk to safety and health in connection with the activities of persons at work; and to establish a safe and healthy working environment involving the office, laboratory, canteen, toilet, hostel, fields, etc. Through the OSH in school program, NIOSH hopes to recommend to schools on the importance of good OSH management as a solution to all problems related to OSH. Hence, OSH awareness should not be limited to teachers and schools staff alone but be extended to the students,’ said NIOSH Chairman, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Datuk Seri Lee Lam Thye.
The MOA was signed after the official launch event of DPM’s new operational headquarter which is now located at KL Sentral. The new operational headquarter is equipped with cutting edge technologies that promote inclusive collaboration and innovation for DPM’s stakeholders.
